First hunt with the X505

I ended up with 2 wheats, 1 copper ring and 1.44 in clad. This machine will definitely take some time to learn. I hunted between Disc1 and AM with 4 tones. Ground balancing was kind of confusing.. I am used to getting a single even tone or hardly any at all on a detector and with the 505 I seemed to get one that was either too high or too low. Probably user error I'm sure.. Should I be digging these deep 48 signals or are they just big iron or "silver dollars" lol

Thanks

In so ground it's a lil hard to tell the difference between the high an low tones when GBing. You'll get that figured out over time. If your depth meter is off then your GB is not set right.

as far as digging #48's, if the tones are good I dig them and I do dig a lot of smashed pop an beer cans but on the flip side I do find a lot of silver half dollars. I got one already this year.

Congrat's on the wheat's, that's a good star.

Go on Minelab's web, and copy diggers book on the Xtera machines. It's free and very helpful. Helps you to set up and understand machine better.:detecting:

Thanks, guys. Yes, I have the ebook. Are shallow 30's usually caps for you guys? They seemed to be for me. Great machine though, I love it!
