First impressions with the ORX

I got my ORX in today. I must admit that the control box is very well made. I have never saw any XP name brand machine before. It took a little to hook up the coil for me as the clip to hook up the battery was very small. I charged it up for a bit and took a look at the back of the manual with the quick start guide and took off out into my woods. It took a bit to figure out the controls and how they work but once I figured out how to change the search programs everything started to become easier. It is a very fast metal detector. I really did not find much to speak of with it because it rained today and I did not venture out too far into the woods in fear of it starting to pour again. However, I did find a spent .22 caliber bullet and it sure hit hard on it. Also some other small pieces of copper and odds and ends. Was running between coin fast and coin deep and between 13.3 to 31 khz frequencies.

I am very impressed with how light the unit is and I think the 9" coil is a very good size for getting in and around small trees too. So far so good. I cannot wait to take it on a real hunt.
