So with snow and ice still here in New Hampshire I figured I'd test out my new to me 1280x. I had the 10" white coil version a few years ago and only used it in water never land......Man I know why....what a beast to swing onon land.....I was hoping the low freq of 2.4 would snake out some Relics, buttons or coins at a spot that I have hit with many Detectors known to man. First signals were disc out pops and crackles with the disc set at 3.5 to knock out the old square nails. I had the sensitivity just about Max. Then I got that quite smooth deep sounding target response. So I pulled my headphones and grabbed my Whites IDX to check the signal and same thing....smooth deep tone....What I found was a long gone smoothie copper with a L stamped in it ! Nice dig for my first hole....after swing the 1280 for an hour on land I ended up using the Whites IDX for faster and easier digging. Which at my second site I dug a 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent.....Great day of digs, even though the temp never got out of the 30's it was fun......two coppers and Nuttin eles, not even a button....yes a few modern bullets. Can't wait to hit the local swimming holes lakes and rivers with the Fisher. To check out my videos just goto YouTube and search my name "Jeremiah Martel". I have a bunch of detecting videos. Thanks Have a blast digging everyone.
