Usually nitro has gemstones but when I saw that gold chain in my hole I did a major happy dance. We all know that feeling we get as we start out a new detecting season. When will that first gold come. What if I don't find any gold at all. I was pretty sure the chain was gold until I hit it with a rinse or water. Then I was pretty positive it was plated. My Mizar gold tester confirms it's plated. The earring is steel and I just found it. 50 coins and all the other junk you see for two hours of fun.

Gold is gold even if it's 1 atom thick! Just like when I dig a piece of jewelry. If it looks like the shape of a diamond the that's what it is! If it looks like a pearl then that's what it is! I guess it just makes me feel justified in digging tabs? :rofl:
