First outing with Vortex 9…

nothing to wow you with. Got to a soccer field no longer in use. Way overgrown but huntable in a lot of areas. Long rows of gray claylike material being dumped here. Started in standard mode then switched to US Coins. Very easy pinpointing. Stayed in preset and detector was very stable. Thought the ground would be very dry but still slightly moist. Only managed 3 rusty red dimes and 2 copper pennies and some trash. Haven’t been detecting much so my shoulder couldn’t take very long. Need to pick up the 11x6 coil. That might help a little. Only concern was the telescoping shaft. Hard to tighten it down and had to always adjust it after picking it up. Not a
major concern. Rubber washers for search coil wouldn’t fit completely where they belong and hard to tighten the coil. But had an enjoyable hunt for 1.5 hrs. This area very trashy and doesn’t always give up much goodies but a good place to try out on a Sunday where there’s not alot of people.
