First post, F75 & Pioneer 505 Pro should be here soon!

As it says, this is my first post and my machines won't be here until next Mon or Tue. Needless to say, I am most anxious to start playing with them. Purchased from Kellyco and go the Pioneer 505 Pro for $100 with the purchase of the Fisher, not to mention the accessories for both systems and a number of other freebies.

I dl'd both user manuals to get a little head start on the game, but, I am counting on the friendly folks in this forum to keep me going in the right direction with minimal problems. Feel free to jump in and tell me I bought the wrong machines and I need to sell them to you at a big discount now before the price goes down even more, <g>.

Any suggestions, hints, must haves, where to go (easy on that one), etc, would be much appreciated. Anyone in the Tyler area with the same interests, I would like to hear from you. I'm retired and have few obligations.

I'm in Tyler, TX and a virgin locator (oh, settle down! I don't locate virgins, I AM a virgin at locating!!) Looking forward to hearing from and meeting some of you.

Tyler? Go out to the site of Camp Fannin. My father did basic training there in WWII. The only camp building, or so I am told, remaining is the base hospital. There are homes built on some of the camp's site but a lot of happened in the surrounding countryside. Your F75 will do well. Another place, go to the site of Earl Campbell's boyhood home. All the kids that grew up out there, something was bound to have gotten lost. Good luck and happy hunting.

on the f-75!..read! read! read!..the manual!...then when you are done,..read! read! read!
again, again,and again!..disc 6 sens.60 and 4 tones just starting out!..have fun!..i have one,and it is a"crackerjack"
coin sniper, one of the best out there!..also sensational on relics!..if ya get "chatter!"..(e.m.i)..just cut your "gain"
or sensitivity until it runs stable, and it will still get outrageous depth!..good luck!

Did you order the F75 Special Edition Black LTD. thats what I ordered from KellyCo and they said possible end of the month or begining of Sept. Did you hear from them?

oldcoon, thanks for the input. I've been around Camp Fannin, however, have never seen the hospital. I do know where the payroll office is located and it still contains a very old, built-in safe.....most of the building is now gone. I've been to Earl Campbell's mother's house (I used to work for the phone factory). He built her a new house, I think, that is on the same property. Another spot I want to check out is a spring where cattle driver's used to camp and have always wanted to hit the area with a locator!

jmaryt, I downloaded the manual for both machines the day I ordered and have been studying them since. The plan is to repeat that process a number of times before they arrive,

shooter, I ordered the "Limited Special Edition" that comes with the 3 coils. The Pioneer 505 Pro is the 'get one' from the 'buy one, get one' sale. I talked to Kellyco a few minutes ago (after getting scared from reading your post) and they told me the entire order shipped on Thursday and is due to arrive via UPS on Tue the 24th. I don't even know the difference between the LTD and the SE models and not sure if what I ordered is the LTD or the SE based on the name: "Limited Special Edition". Do you know the difference between the two? My F75 order with the 3 coils was $1149 (without the additional coils, it was $1049. I thought that was a good price for two more coils. What did you order?

Anyone else in or around Tyler??

(can't believe the spell checker hits on "locator")

A great place to 'get started' is in wood chip tot lots of parks and elementary schools - digging is easy and there are usually a fair number of targets. If you turn sensitivity down to 60 or below, the F75 can go surprisingly close to metal play equipment. One Essential item in my opinion is a pin pointer (I love the Garrett Pro Pointer). After using one for a few years, I can't imagine hunting without one. A high quality digging tool is a close second Lesche works great.

Good luck and have fun!

Hey shooter,
OK, I got the skinny from Kellyco. The unit I ordered is the F75,3 coil combo pack: http://www.kellycodetectors.com/fisher/fisher-f75-3coil-buy.htm It is, indeed, in stock and ready for shipment (mine is on the way). I found out the LTD, the black version, is basically the same as the Special Edition except it has different software that allows it to seek at greater depths. The latest: Just got off the phone with First Texas.......the Limited has a different processor AND software giving it greater gain control/depth. I am pretty sure, based on the difference in price, that the one I ordered is the regular F75 with the optional 3 coils. There is no way to upgrade the regular F75 to the LTD model. Additionally, the tech told me that there is a gold and a black, regular F75.....the only way to tell the difference is to go to 'Processor" in the left column of the display and turn the adj. knob all the way clockwise. There will be different, two letter codes, which I failed to get, that will distinguish the two.

Hope that helps...

You are correct, the regular F75 they had instock, Mine is the new "Black" LTD Special Edition, the difference is the one I ordered has 2 more processes, BOOST and a CACHE process added to it. No one had them in stock, Fisher has had them backed-up, you had to PRE-ORDER them. Think they have been backup since June. Hope this helps. Good luck with yours I still have a wait. Oh I was going to order the one you did cause mine was back ordered, figured I'd send it in and pay for the upgrade but your right can't do it on the other model F75's

Heres the data on mine so you can compair and see the diff.

I am not familiar with the working of this forum, but, I thought I was set up to get email from others. Anything special have to be done? I went through all the control panel items, thought I set it all okay, must have muffed something.

I get mine next Tue. and the weather is going to be set on 'broil'......not sure how much locating I will get done.......may have to do just my yards, yuck. I did lose my motorcycle key between my house and shop, never did find it.....there is a challenge.

I'll surely keep you up on my findings, just hope I can do so without looking too much like an idiot. I need a seasoned pro close by to show me the ropes, but, even as is, I'll figure it out. I am really excited about getting out. Don't have much equipment to start, hope it is enough.
