Well I just joined this forum after being a member of others for about a year. Today I've bought myself an older model Fisher 1265X which the previous owner just had refurbished from Fisher with a new coil. I'm used to my AT Pro and started with an ACE 350, but had the desire to play with some older technology for comparison. I'm not convinced about my Pro's capabilities. The depth is questionable. And in iron, it just goes haywire. I know you can 'listen' to the iron audio, but I think it's not penetrating to the good signals deep enough. So I figured I'd go old school and see what I can find. Been searching through the forum and reading about the other 1200 series models, but does anyone have a suggestion for the 2 disc settings for relics? I'm in a civil war area and pull bullets and the like from the sites I hit. Wouldn't want to tone those out. The guy I'm purchasing from told me to set Disc 1 to a lower number, and Disc 2 higher to see if the signal hits both. If not, it's probably junk, but if hits both, could be something good. Not having held it or tried it out, I'm just searching for advice at this point. Any suggestions welcome.
