First post...with pics

JT in Virginia

This is my first relic find with my Quattro. I found this bullet about 2 weeks ago at a construction site near my house. I got my Quattro last summer but I really haven't used it much until now. I'm really just figuring it out and learning how to pinpoint with it.

That's exciting. I wonder where the bullet came from originally? Hmmm.!! It always intrigues me wondering about the history behind the finds? Good stuff.!

That is a nice .58 Cal. CS Gardner............Might be a nice CS button at you site. Nice find!

Those are rally clear, great pictures JT. I can't wait to get my camera back from the shop, and I only hope I can learn to put some nice shots on the forum too. I think the resolution would be good, but your getting such nice closeups too. Great stuff.

Golden, I think it is lead, but it gave me a 30 so usually lead is a lower number so I'm not sure. I'll post a pic of it cleaned up.

and aluminium at around 33 to 34. Both great give sounding signals, you almost thing they were our old coins here. For instance our old half pennies come in at 34 and the full pennies at about 37 or 38. So sometimes it keeps me guessing!

Try not to do much cleaning up of the bullets. The oxidation coating on them is what proves their age. Nice to find Confederate bullets, I used to relic hunt in Virginia for many years, but it costs too much nowadays. Hope you find some other nice CW relics. And yes, the CW bullets are always lead.
