While I was detecting around a home that was built in 1910 I got a good repeatable signal reading 46 on the ole TID. Down about 3.5" and I found a three to four inch long silver sugar spoon
It was a little tarnished in places but in overall good condition. I was praying for my first big silver coin but you know... I think this will suffice for now. Seeing how I went from never hitting silver in the three years I've owned my detector to getting my first silver coin last week and now this. Keep'um comin! After some research I found out that the spoon was actually made in chicago in 1937. Settings as follows: Pattern 1 with NOTHING notched out (no discrimination), auto GB/auto track (reading around 28,), HF 6" DD coil, Auto noise cancel, "99" tones, go slow and stay low. Soo Iron infested it took me about 15 min to find a place to GB. I know technically you dont have to GB with auto track on but it's just something I try to do to give the auto track a head start. Almost forgot, I also found a couple of wheats in the yard along with some modern clad. For the most part this was a very modest farm house and I doubt the people had much money to lose. I've been wrong before... Hell we know they had at least one silver spoon
If they were anything like my family they had silver spoons and paper plates.
