Man, you ARE ready to go aren't you? I'm really excited about it ! I'm a fan of checklists myself... I have one pretty big one for the band and all the equipment. Started doing that after I forgot the mixer one night. Fortunately, the church we were playing at wasn't too far from the house I have another one for fly fishing too. I went to my favorite trout fishin' spot on a State Preserve. Got to the place the night before and slept in the car. I realized in the morning I'd forgotten my sunglasses (like fishing blind) and my net (I catch and release)...
So I just keep the checklists in the computer and print them out when I need to

Great post!
This being my first trip and all:
I have to pick up a good duffel bag, get or make something to carry the detectors in that won't get destroyed on the plane. Turn my monster (beach) scoop into a travel scoop so I can fit it in a bag.

your traveling vehicle being ready for lots of mileage!
and maps so you don't get lost along the way!
