thought just came to me , will i need my pinpointer on the beach? i have an se pro. what setting would be best? i have bruce's deep ground setting programed in.

Are you talking freshwater or salt water beach? I use the SE here in Fl.... there isnt any minerals persa so it runs smooth in my normal dirt settings. I run disc at 28 i just want to knock out any minerals and be able to id iron. Other than that you dig everything but a bottle cap. DONT pass up gum wrapper..... ive found some pretty small kids 14K rings in that range. Hope you have a good sand scoop and not a hand scoop..... lot of digging on deep targets. If i get a foil tone i normally can just kick the sand with my foot to see if its a shallow target. I do pretty well on the dry/wet sand.

Depends where on the beach your hunting. dry sand, wet sand in the water and the target size??? coins in wet sand could be found at depth of 8 to 10 inches or more. Don't get foiled on a soda can in the dry sand that will sound like a quarter, but buried about a foot and a half. I dig about that deep before giving up. JMO

A sand scoop it defiantly what ya need to beach hunt you don't have to bend over its easy digging, no PPer needed! HH tigerhank68

yes to a longhandled sandscoop, no to a pinpointer.
