first time hearing "whisper" pulled 1920 s penny

I was hunting (and sweating) today and had a faint signal that jumped around from 30 to 42, sometimes no signal in other directions. I almost did not dig it, I wasn't sure if it was just false signals. When i chose to dig I had trouble finding it, it was about 5 inches deep. It was hard to read, once I wet it down I could read it was a 1920 s wheatie, woohoo!!! I don't think I have any from the 20's...or not very many anyways.

I never heard that whisper the rest of the day. I wonder how many targets I have passed over!!

Now you know what to lesson for. wait until you get in to an area that has old coins 8" and deeper, it will be a super soft whisper I hunt more by tones then I do the numbers.

Well, being the first time I "heard" the whisper, I hope I can remember the sound. As I mentioned I almost passed it over. I hope I don't spend to much time chasing false tones :)

Congrats on the old wheatie. Now take a break as I don't want you beating me up at the club contest.

Nice find!
