First time out for 2010

I hadn't been detecting since November, so it was great just being out there again after all this time:super:
I only had a couple hours, so I went to a spot I've hunted for years. The finds are not as numerous as years ago, but there's
always the chance to get a little silver

The first keeper I got sounded off loud and clear. Figured it was junk before I dug because it was big and shallow.
Nothin spectacular, but will probably look good in a display.

Not sure what the stone is. Anyone know?

The stone seems to have a vertical white line that moves when you move the ring back and forth.

I just don't know much about stones:shrug:

These pics, although unfocused, are pretty close to its true color. You can see the white line in the middle I mentioned.

Thanks,
Matt

[size=large]The "stone" is actually the polished "eye tooth" from an elk. The jeweler said it was worth about $140.00. Yours looks like the same. Nice find. Do a search on; Elk eye tooth.
