First time out with Omega 8000

I recenty traded for the Omega. Seems to be a pretty solid machine. Pretty simple to use. I took it to a park where I have found a few silver dimes with my coinstrike. No silver today though. In 3 hours I found 24 cents in modern coins, 4 beer cans (one of which was a solid 18" deep), and a massive pile of pull tabs. Still getting used to the pinpoint, target seems to be just a little forward of the center of the coil. This being my first teknetics machine, I was a little hesitant, however it seems to be a well built, powerful, and easy to use detector. Reading the posts about the 11" DD coil makes me want to get one.

Although the 11dd has its place and just might be a hair deeper, the 10" is a great coil for all around hunting and for sure like bottle caps far less, if you hunt such spots. If I could only have one coil for the Omega, it would be the 10" then followed by the 5." That one is the real killer in trash laden spots. You will end up loving the Omega, I believe. I have had a bunch of detectors over the years and for pure coin shooting, it is a awfully good machine. Good luck! HH jim tn

Hope you find a seated.
