First time out with V3i

Hi all,

I went to a place I had hunted with the DSL and knew there was light trash. I dug everything, was fooled once by a bottle cap but after thinking about for a bit, the analyze mode and pin point showed all 3 freq even on amplitude.
Is this the normal for bottle caps on the V3i? I was running stock coin and jewelry, with the Rx gain turned up. I found a .22 shell casing at 7 in. so I know this machine is going to be awesome. The pin point was right on every time. I always struggled with the DFX pin point. I didn't find any coins but didnt expect to, I wanted to see trash readings today. I found the rare stick of Spearmint Gum at 3 in and no I didnt chew it. I have no complaints with the V3i today.
Very easy to swing, much better than the DFX, Three hours today, no problem. I also got the TRX and its awesome also, only complaint is I wish it was louder, My hearing isn't what it used to be, had to lean toward the hole to hear it a few times, may have to try vibrate. Was a great day for learning. Of course one of those trash hits could have been a ring.

The TRX has the membrane over the speaker opening. It really makes the TRX weatherproof. Whites doesn't claim it is waterproof but when I was testing the prototype I had the empty case in the pool for ever an hour with no leaks. The membrane can be removed but then you lose the resistance to water.

If the 2.5 Khz or bottom bar isn't dominate with an 83 vdi its a cap.

I assume you lose your warranty too after removing the membrane.
