First trip out with T2...

MIG73

New member
I took my T2 with me to NC this weekend and did some hunting with a buddy of mine in a well hunted camp. Much to my surprise before I knew what had happened, THIS pops out of the ground...

Nice first find MIG. That just going to be one of many many finds that you would probably miss with other detectors. When you find something like that you feel like a kid at Christmas time. I haven't used the all metal mode but I tried it out at a small site out side of town, about the size of half a football field, that I have detected with the T2 and my Minelab Explorer more times than I can count, and turned up a percussion cap that I have walked over time and time again. Now you can go back to those hunted out sites and rehunt them out. I don't care how hard it has been hunted and how many people have hunted it you will still find something. Don't underestimate those old worn out sites. Good luck and happy hunting.
This can from that hunted out site and thats after about 2 years of hunting this site with the Explorer, with a 12" loop and the T2, and I had covered the area what I thought was pretty good. This is just the way it came out of the ground. I had to pick up my jaw off of the ground. This area was in line with the 20th Corps march and camp, so this must have been a Confederate camp ahead of the Union march. I also found about 7 or 8 Tranter bullets that were IDed to Confederate use. Whats so neat about this area it has been hunted by a lot of other people and they missed all of this. One guy that hunted with my hunting partner left his holes uncovered and the junk on the ground. I found several nice items not very fare from his holes. So don't mark off those old sites.
