Fisher 1260x info needed

pinhead

New member
Can anyone tell me a little bit about the Fisher 1260x? I know it is an old machine but were they any good? I have heard many good things about fisher machines but know nothing about this particular model. Would appreciate any info you coud give. Thanks.

I used one about two years ago.The unit I used had the eight inch coil.Very sensitive to brass small 22 shells.Dual knobs for discrimination which I never saw this as an advantage. It doesn't compare well with a new 1236x it lacks the depth and ergonomics.

It's an excellent detector, though quite dated ['82 or '83]. Early models did not have a pinpoint mode. Put a 10" loop on it and you will be digging some deep holes. If the price is right, you can't lose.:detecting:

I agree with Vlad, dated but not a bad unit.Better depth than most mid priced units and a better relic unit

I just dusted my 1260x off on monday, took it to a freshwater beach and found some sinkers, lures, some clad and plenty of junk.Still works great after all these yrs:))
