Fisher 1266X resistor modification

I have heard tell of a resistor fix which decreases the popping noises in discrimination mode. I don't know if it stops it completely or what. Just recall reading about something along these lines four or five years ago. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on this.?? Myth or truth? Has anyone tried it?

That wouldn't be any different than turning down the sensitivity or audio volume....
depending on where it was installed. They are VERY SENSITIVE detectors.

i used to HATE the clicking and popping - but it tells you EVERYTHING in and around your area....

You'll get used to it (and miss it) :)
