Fisher 1270 gold prospecting?

I have a Fisher 1270 that I have to send back for the second time to factory for repair. Is this detector worth hold on too & using for gold prospecting as well as relic & coin hunting. Thanx Rich
 
I had sent it in before for repair as it constantly chatters & sputters & it is unuable. I called Fisher & I am sending it in for repair again. I have very little use on this detector. I'm disappointed as this is the first problem like this I ever had with a major detector and I wanted to use it in the Gold Basin in Arizona in April on my trip to find gold & meteorites. I bought the 1270 as I had 1266 before & I was supposed to be much improved. THanx Rich
