fisher 1270 spec. ed. at the beach?

Hi. I bought a Fisher 1270 spec. edition half a year ago when I was really into relics and didn't give a thought to the beach. It is more or less my real detector (had an entry level Bounty Hunter, still do, which doesn't compare; works well enough, though). There's no salt switch, but it has manual ground adjust (the Fisher 1270). How do you think it would do on dry sand at the beach. Could I get away with it? Thanks very much in advance for your insights, much appreciated!
