Fisher 1280x problem

I would guess a short in the coil wire. I have a vintage Garrett Sea Hunter Xl 500
I had a short trimmed it back re soddered it and works fine. Last year replaced batteries to now I need to get in the water and put it to use!

I just sent my 20+ year old 1280x into fisher and they fixed everything that could happen to a well used 20+ year old detector.
