Fisher F2

After owning a Garrett Ace 250 a couple years back, had it stolen. I just bought a new F2 from Kellyco it will be here by weeks end. Any of you guys compared the 2 before? I read a lot about the F2, and it seems to be better in a few ways than the 250. i also got a great deal with the smaller coil and a Fisher pin pointer. Any pointers you can give on the F2 would be great. Thanks.

Check your messages, please....

Also, don't hold out a lot of hope that the pinpointer you get with this package is great...it's about as good as the Harbor Freight one and worth about the same, which is better than nothing but not even in the same ballpark, league, city or world as the Propointer and I have used them all.
However, if you don't have one, like I said, better than nothing.

Now the F2...well .that's an entirely different story compared to most other starter detectors in it's class.

You are gonna love this thing.

As I thought it would be here by weeks end, it was here TODAY! Man they ship fast.... Guess what I will be doing after work tomorrow? I have been reading a lot of good stuff about this F2.

I am thinking of purchasing the 11" DD coil for my F2. I usually metal detect at the beach, should this improve my finds?

The Fisher F-point pin-pointer can be pretty much tossed in the trash! (Really). It is so bad that if anybody using it in anyway to judge the Fisher line of products Fisher would be a sunk ship for sure! So, for sure leave it in the box while your trying out the F2 detector.

I really liked my fisher pinpointer...that is until it broke and I tried the propointer that I own. Its pretty good for being pretty much a freebie with and F2, and much better than no pinpointer at all. Enjoy it while it lasts though.

I used to have an Automax V4, you know the one big enough to be confused with a wiffle ball bat. That thing was great. I have not used the F-pointer yet. It seems to have a crappy amount of sensitivity, like 1/4 inch from the tip.... I did the nickel trick, I got a whole 3/4 inches of extra distance... Seems like a cheap crappy PP...

Hi all
can any of the F2 owners please tell me this
I assume that the F2 is a multi tone machine ?
can you turn off the multi tones and just have one tone ?
thanks

$ tone and no you cant turn it off. Holler if you have more questions!

I think Bart meant 4 tone, but maybe not...
I just found $500 worth of gold with mine in the last few weeks!

Also, there are 4 tones, but once you have enough time in listening to those tones you will find that there are slight differences in those tones..
When I roll over a quarter, I KNOW it's a quarter!
