Fisher F44 spare coils and other questions

New member
Hello,
I'm new happy user of Fisher F44 but for my soils better coil will be DD coil. Concentric coil is great and light, precise but DD will be better, more ground coverage.
For me Fe tone and Custom program are great functions, weatherproof is also great, feather weight, precise, ground balnce.

1. Do You have any information about 11" DD coil for F44 ?? I have in box bonus coupon for DD coil but in accesory for F44 it's not available (only 7" and 9" colis).
Maybe coil from Teknetics Omega or F5 with screw-in plug will appropriate ?? Frequency is the same i think.

2. Ground grab (automatic) occasionally give symbol "A" on the screen ?? What's that means ?? Metal above coil ?? I don't see any information in manual.

Do You have any experience with that causes ??

Greetings from Poland
Damian

I have the f44 haven't got to use it much because of work, but I believe the "A" symbol your seeing is just telling you its in all metal when ground balancing. Oh by the way I love the f44 too. I like it better than the f5 I have

Thanks for posting but it isn't all metal symbol.
When ground is clear and when push GG then pumping coil screen show numbers and after relase GG show "d".
When metal is underneath coil screen shows "- -" and give siren signal.
That "A" showed when numbers was about 40-50 as I good remember.

That's my fault - "A" apears on begining of GG, this is mean "Automatic" I think.
Maybe during GG my finger slipped and touched again GG button and that's all
I have info from producer that coil with srew plug-in from F5 will work on F44 then any coils who fits F5 will fit F44

The Greek line of coils work on the new F series.
I would look into an Omega coil before I bought F5 coil.

Thanks for advices. I will search Teknetics Greek series coil because it will be cheaper.
Strange thing that producer don't tell us in manual about F5 coil fits F44 - show only new teardrop concentric coil at the end of manual.
Maybe after my email will change that

The coil list is very extensive so most just summarize greeks/g2/f19.

Detector list: ETP, F11, F22, F44, Alpha, Delta, Gamma, Omega, F5, F19, GBP, G2, G2+, Titanium. (screw on)

ET, Digitek, LRP, QDP, LSP, Gold, Platinum, old F5/Delta. (push in)

Your options:

Fisher/Tek:
5" DD
7" round (do not use on gbp/f19/g2)
8" round (do not use on gbp/f19/g2)
9" teardrop (do not use on gbp/f19/g2)
10"DD
10" concentric (do not use on gbp/f19/g2)
11" DD
11" teardrop (do not use on gbp/f19/g2)

NEL:
sharp
snake
sharpshooter
hunter
tornado
storm
attack
big

Detech:
10x5 WSS
10x12 SEF
13" ultimate

Great information!
I don't know that F series is that versatile. For those who have second detector with other coil is great stuff - don't need to buy another coils, only change it.
Producer watch their bussiness I think and don't tell us that information - better buy next coil :)
I have now on my F44 coil 11"DD from Greek series and I think will be great detector in that configuration.
11"DD in my opinion is much much better than new 11" teardrop for my heavy soils.
It takes more ground and wider range with feather weight about 0.89 lbs (0.405kg with cable and screw-in plug of course). Some like Nel give weight without cable and plug.... Can I use coil without cable ecxcept Deus ??
Only few test (only in air) after me but on weekend I do more test in real field :detecting:

I have one more question.
Manual said that Factory Reset is combination of:
1. turn OFF detector
2. push and hold MENU buton
3. turn ON detector - after that left on the screen will blink SENS, Volume, NOTCH

With my mistake I think that I must push and hold MODE buton (not menu) and when hold and turn ON detector on screen "01" appears.
Anyone knows what that means ?? Some secret code of function ??
It's DST mode ON or what ??

Version 1 is the operating system software version report.

Has anyone tried using the DD coils on the F44? If so can you comment? I am really looking at getting a DD for my F44.

Thanks

Junkminer,
The only DD coil I have used on the F44 so far is the 5x10 DD. Ran ok but again, the 5x10 isn't a depth demon of a coil. I have not yet ran my 11"DD on it. I've mostly been using the stock coil.

What mode do you run in?
What does your ground balance numbers?
How many FE0304 bars do you get when you ground balance?

HH
Mike

My gg #s are usually around 66. I have seen as high as 78 and as low as 42. That's about it. Modes are mostly coin and jewelry.

I use 11" DD coil from Teknetics greek series. It's great for heavy soils. I love it and when I put that DD coil on detector I never took it back. Original coil is great for precise pinpointing but I use often DD coils.
In my opinion 11" DD should be primary coil for heavy soils.
My ground is about 66-69, iron volume 10 and custom program :detecting:
Great detector for that money!

I see the the Tecknetics Delta and Omegas DDs are both 7.8Khz and the F44 is 7.69Khz. Will the F44 adjust for the change in Coils Freq?

All greek series with screw in plug will fit - I have one and I don't know from which detector it is.
That differences between frequencies means nothing to detector.
As You see coil from lower frequencies like F5 fits F19 - here differences are more than to times more and working fine.
