Fisher F5 11" DD Coil

chaddy

New member
Has anyone ever used a Fisher F5 11" DD Coil on the Omega 8000 ?
Its the screw on type that i have seen for sale.
Any advice will help.
Cheers.

chaddy----Don't know about the F-5 but I tried the F-75/70 11" DD coil on my Omega and although it did work, it didn't give me optimum performance.-----Read (engineer) Dave Johnsons post concerning this issue, he explains it very well.----Dave's post is the first one on the Fisher Classic Forum here on Findmall---titled "F-coils for the Gold Bug".----He mentioned the other coils as well.-----------Cheers, Del

Thanks for that Del.
Seems like it is a pot luck way to go.
The fisher coil i have seen for sale here in the UK is a good price, but could turn out not to work on the Omega.

The F5 and Omega are closer than kissing cousins.

Yeh i thought that.
Frequency of the machines are the same, moulding of the coil is the same.
Just i dont know what difference of the Push fit connector and screw fit is. !!
Is the Omega classed as a 5 pin srew connector?

The newer F5 detectors (they changed over from the push-on connectors earlier this year) have coils with the screw-on connectors which are interchangable with all the Greek series Teks and vice versa.
