Fisher F5 All metal Mode

Have a fisher f5 and always use it in disc mod, but can someone help me set it up for all metal mode, book is not very unclear.
I want to use it on a salt water beach and some old home sites.

Just click it down into All Metal, then set your threshold tone where you like it best. Then select the tone pitch that you want to listen to, Ground balance and go.

Regarding all metal threshold tones. Some folks like a barely audible one, others like to turn it just a tiny bit down below audible so they don't really hear it at all, some like to run it a little louder to smooth out the bumpiness. Various reasons for each setting. I get tired of the constant noise in my ears so I set mine right at audible or just below audible. Anything that breaks the threshold can still be heard clearly and I don't have to listen to any choppiness in the tone. Personal preference thing. You will figure it all once you get into it. Modulated audio so you have pay attention to your sweep speed if your are after the deep targets. You'll walk right over the deeper stuff if you sweep to fast. If you are only after the top 6" stuff then you listen for the ziz zips.

If you hunt in 2 tone mode fairly often you'll pick up all metal pretty quickly.

Good luck,
Mike

Aaah! Glad to hear that info about threshold in all-metal Mike - I thought that you had to run it with the threshold banging away all the time ... sooo set the ground balance with threshold audible then I can turn it down to just into silent search and all signals still come through . and use slower sweep speed to use that extra depth.

And gain used as in disc? Assume so.

Will give it a go.
