Has an owner of a Fisher F70 metal detector tested a 14 Karat woman's diamond engagement ring and found the signal to be void of sound. I have had the experience of testing my wife's engagement ring and finding the detector, set at numerous settings, to be void of any signal that a metal had been detected. Testing a man or woman's 14 karat wedding band produced a very good signal at an air test of about 8 inches.
I would appreciate an answer if any F70 owners had the same results. I called and talked to a Fisher representative and he stated that the reason was the small amount of gold in a woman's engagement ring. Is this a common feature of the F70? My CZ5 had no difficulty producing a loud signal on the same ring!
