Got your attention on that Heading. Was out today at local Park pretty Trashy been Hit alot. I started doing this last year late, got gold well today spend over 4hr working this. I was shocked by the results. The machine was GB at about 58 with ground Grab,

Stetting was --PF mode---80 sens---15 recrimination---3 tones---notch at 40. OK on a air test Dime 7" but strong if you go past the 7 " air test nothing, no tailing of the coin getting weaker it just stops's. Same with other coins some Gold Ring's. But in the Ground a Big Wake up Call. Scanning the ground f75 quit i mean sometime had to put a coin down to make sure it was working. Nickel hit strong showed 13" on the depth dug their was the nickel at just little over 111" had my wooden ruler with me. Hit on a piece of Tab i mean size of lest then a pea strong ,showed it was a tab it was down 8" i mean small piece. Found a small dog tag 9&1/2" down same with a dime. My finds increased 2 fold when using this Mode compared to the other modes didn't try the Cl mode.Had my F75 about 1yr now love it. By the Way i was using the fisher 5" coil. The air test doesn't even come close when the metal is in the ground. Just thought i would share this. On this mode its bang hit no ifee's

Thanks Bill

Can you give a little more information?
My F75 and LTD with the 5" coil can't come close to what you observed.
But I'll try your settings.
Thanks

I started to play around with the PL mode late last year.I was killing clad dimes in a filed by a school in the PL mode that the DE mode was not getting i got 18 dimes to just 4 dimes in the DE mode. If you set it like i have above do a air test dime will ping up to 7" just cut off no trailing at all. No ife signal just their and then gone. Reading in the manual PL mode is for uneven ground like plowed field so how can a signal going over a row then dip between the 2 plowed row help. Because it would actually be the same has the DE mode. When your swinging on the ground total different and deep hits coins Hard. All i can tell you try it. also notice on the couple of small items that were junk 8" the sound was like a squeal i could tell it was junk and it was. It has to be different then the DE mode. How i found out, was at a volley ball court at the park was in the DE mode got a very week hit and breaking up went to the DP mode still the same little better but same went to the PL mode and bang sounded like it was on top of the sand. dime around 10" deep

Thanks

Ok I got my F75 set with your settings all except the coil I don' t have a 5" so my 11" is on the stick. I have the little 6 1/2" elliptical I could put on there but it is not a DD. I am in the house right now and I am getting a lot of chatter. I am picking up my brother about 1:30 today and heading out for a afternoon hunt.

So I have the notch set at 40 and I assume that is to take out some tabs and doesn't really have anything to do with special setup?

Got the settings and this "Sounds Great" and I'm going to try it out. One thing you forgot to mention was your sweep speed and coil height from the ground, scrubbing, 1" high and so on.

Well I ran your settings today and the detector did respond as you stated. I wish I could say I found some nice deep coins but what coins I found were pretty much typical from my finds in that area.

I can't say it didn't work, if I didn't pass over something it can't find it.

Thanks for the special settings, maybe I can try another day or somebody else can do a little better.

Come on guys get out there and give it a try.

Thanks again,

Ron in Wv

Going out tomorrow and using his settings. Didn't get the answer on the sweep speed or off the ground coil distance so I'll wing it.

Goldie, tried your settings yesterday with my 5" coil, she was running quite I couldn't believe it and this place normally gives me some chatter, that was in DE,BP, set the SEN to 90 cause she was so quite used 4H tone cause I got some Indian heads there. Got 2 merc's, 2 wheaties, and a flat button and a few shotgun shells and a 43 silver nickel. I've hunted this place many times and wasn't getting much lately but these targets were deep minimum 8"s and the lenght of my Garrett Pro Pointer. They hit real solid, not broken up, some did show on the confidence meter but the #'s were there. I'm going to work with your setup for awhile but to me it seem right on the money. KUDO on that tip................

I am going to try it in the test garden. My soil is above average mineralization. My old 75 cannot hit the 9" deep dime....the 75 LTD will, but not proudly.

Goldman, I'm not clear on your settings. I'm sure you know if you notch over the disc settings, those disced items will be reversed or accepted back in. Or are you setting disc at 15 and notching out just pull tabs completely so the slash is fully through tabs?

In other words,---- iron is disc out (disc set at 15 & full slash thru iron)....foil thru nickel accepted (no slash thru foil or nickel).... tab fully notched (full slash thru tab)......zinc, dime, qtr accepted......is that correct?

I know he had a typo, but I took his settings like this'

PF mode
Sensitivity @ 80
Disc at 15
Tones 3
Notch at 40 which is only half of tabs, with disc set at 15 and a notch at 40 you would be notching out half of the tabs.

Hope I am right, the machine was running quiet.

Ok gave it an hour this morning, still a little cold in northern NJ and the ground is wet. you can see by the pic what I pulled up and these 4 coin were still at Pro Pointer depth. The detector was super stable, this area wasn't real stable when I used the 11" coil, had to drop the SEN..
The merc's had a totally clear solid audio with a 72 reading. Now I should have switched to another mode and see what it was like but I didn't think of that, next hunt I'm going to check between PF,BP,& DE modes. Think this is going to be a keeper setting.

Thanks for the feedback all. Ron wv62 is correct on the settings that i used. I knew the PL mode had to be different then the DE & DP mode why put the same mode twice on a machine. On air test it was like the DE mode but what i liked it hit good on a coin solid no ife signal. It didn't tail off get weaker as you tested further from the coil and it hits deep in the ground with good sound just keep plying around with it. Make sure you do a good Ground balance even when you switch to a different mode very important. Nice coin finds shooter.

Thanks Bill

Just wanted to say i can't see that good anymore even with glasses on and I'm a bad typer lol, but I'm going to try, for the first time to make a video on this to put on here & YouTube. Think the F75 is a hidden Gem you just have to learn it. I think it got a bad rap people were turning up the discrimination & also notch it will go crazy. Then they would say I'm going to sell it. Read that alot on different forms.

Thanks Bill

Gotcha!.......disc 15,.....pf mode.....notch out only half of pull tabs 40,.... 3 tone,.... possibly can up the sens if site allows. Thanks guys, i'll give it a go.

Hmmmm...based on this info - I was thinking of doing a trade in a few weeks with someone - my F75se for his etrac..... now I am not sure if I want to do this trade.

I've got both and the E Trac is a deep, stable machine not effected by EMI like the 75 is. I can hunt under major power towers and not a bit of problem even with the sensitivity cranked up. The ONLY problem with the ET is the weight. It does get heavy on the marathon hunts I do. I am just learning the 75 and my main use will be in parks. The multi-tones of the ET does make for a learning curve but when you hit silver you will love the tone it makes. I was out all day Saturday learning the 75 at a school field. Got a silver ring and a lot of clad. Looking for gold so dug a lot of tabs and zincs. Only way to learn it is to dig. going to try the "secret pattern" this week.
