:fisher: I Got The New Year Off With A Big Bang :detecting:

I met Taylor (CZconnoisseur) and his dad and uncle at a old house site this morning. It didn't turnout to be a good site so we left there and went another site that I knew of that was nearby. Right off I dug a toy gun. Boy those things were poplar back in the day. I was using the "DE" mode, 4H tones, discrimination 7, GB 62, with the sensitivity set on 70. The 'DE' mode is definitely better than the 'boost' mode at trashy sites. I guess a good thing to do would be to grid search the area in both modes. I ended up getting my coil over a 1944 Mercury Dime, a 1943 War Nickel, some clad coins and some Wheat Pennies ( 1952, 1957, 1950, 1957, 1951, 1947, 1951 ) before the rain sent me to the car. Taylor found a silver ring that had a pretty stone mounted on it. He was swinging in the rain when I left.:detecting: On my way home I spent time looking for more places to detect. I talked to a guy for nearly 30 minutes on his side porch about politics. I ended getting permission to detect his really large corner lot. The house was built in 1948. I bet that I'll get my coil over some silver coins, maybe a gold ring or two at that site. I always have high hopes.:)

It was an enjoyable hunt regardless of the conditions! There's a corner lot rental opening up in midtown next week - we should be all over it like flies on...Dad and Doug found a Shell Oil presidential token, a Wheat, and some clad. I was nearly drenched at the end of it!!!

Taylor you're hardcore when it comes to detecting. Hunting at night in cold wet nasty weather is one step too far for me. I'm glad that your dad and uncle found something nice. They sure are some great guys. I'm kind of happy that it's going to be raining for the next couple of days, I'm about wore out. I need to replenish my batteries.

Let's pick that corner lot clean. I love detecting corner lots.:detecting:

Cool! I learn a lot here from everyone's effort with these F rigs!..I went straight from AM to DP on account it said something in the manual about DP coupled with DE being the quickest amount of accurate feedback on metal in the ground..especially in the soil range depth you like to hunt....

I do not learn fast like you do, and I dont like to try new things at all..so after 4yrs I cannot leave Delta Pitch for any reason to experiment, I'd be lost and too slow....it does not take too long to get the hang of DP, since its on a linear scale tone wise...those multidenom stacks, spills and slants are a real trophy...especially if they are old silver, or who knows? maybe even an old gold mix? Those tight spills really ramp up a count in a hurry...I would assume old silver/gold coin spills are signals like what we get with modern clad ones?.....Anyway, Buddy, all the best...I think you will do real well running DP...commit a month to it, and I doubt you would ever hunt in anything else..then again, you are not doing too bad the way you work things, you are one powerful force in field now!...:clapping:...

I'm going to have to try the DP tones when I receive my F75 SE. Good work out there,

Bill

Hey Cobill! Wecome!

Let us know what you think...if you are new to this F rig, try to run mid power on the sens for a while...maybe a neg thresh too...whatever seems to be smooth, accurate, and comfortable to your ears..

Mud, I'm usually a ML guy, so this F75 SE will be a whole new experience. Any tips would be appreciated.

Bill

Bill,
Throw up a post here on the F forum and ask a few of the Brothers what you may expect regarding the possibly different settings that will start you off right and give you some satisfaction..? so we dont clog up Tabs post too bad. Not that he would mind...just to start a new topic!

I hunt with a couple of MLabber guys....they work pretty slow, but they are really great hunters and finders...Probably the biggest thing you will notice is the super fast circuit reset time this F rig has...you dont have to creep along...in fact, you can really sling this rig and hit deep pings...if you try to go ML slow on the stick, you may miss a few nice targets...
Mud.
