Any information :nopity:about increased depth when the discrimination is dropped from 5 to 4 on the F75. Everyone say there's a boost in sensitivity, but what can be expected?

The answer is you can expect a SLIGHT increase in "depth" that will be based on the target size, composition, the ground, and your other settings. There is no way to say something as quantified as "you can expect 1 1/2 " increase of depth on a men's size 10 14K wedding band laying at 7" in ground that shows 2 bars on the Fe3O4 meter" or whatever. The best way to determine for yourself is to go hunting and when you find a target that you think is worthy of digging, while sweeping over that target, check it at 5 and then 4 and see the difference in response and the amount of air height difference. At that point and with that effort, you've managed to determine the cause and effect difference between 5 and 4 on THAT target in THAT ground, on THAT day, with THOSE other settings. That's as good as it gets.

Brad, I agree ...... too many intangibles, and variables...... almost as bad as the Drake equation! LOL

Sounds like the same answer Streak gave me. Now I guess I need to say something. In my area I've never found any super deep coins. Oldest to day was a 1870 Indian at less than 6" deep, but I've dug modern clad at 7-8" deep. Not sure there's any coins much deeper than 7-8 inches in my area in normal ground, that is ground that's not been filled, added to or in a very wet area. I've done a lot of comparison when I've found what I call deep good targets. I've yet to find any of the performance settings on the F75 giving much of an advantage in the areas I hunt. What really strange I've found Indians at less than 3" and buffalo's at 6". Some say JE mode is better and I can say I usually hunt in JE mode just for the low conductors sake and not wanting to miss anything good. Now I'm always experimenting with different settings in hopes of discovering some hidden setting that will work better in my area. At present time it's usually JE, sen. 88 or higher, disc 4-5 if I can, 2F

One way to find if there are deeper coins is to do a 2 inch scrape and see if the ground comes alive....We did that on a old miner camp...We found square head nails and lead then took out an area with the tractor and started to find coins that were about 6 inches I think the one factor was masking...but we started to find some great relics.
