how is fishers customer service? im thinking about buying a used fisher f75 se and was just wondering what can i expect if i should need a repair down the road. clad king

This may not count for much but I recently purchased a used F75se with 2 lower rods and 3 coils and when it arrived I noticed that it was missing the washers that fit into the lower rods...so I emailed Fisher's service centre offering to buy the washers - but they are shipping them to me free of charge...they did not have to do that because it is not under warranty so cudos to them for doing this.

Do not always expect free service..... The warranty is for 5 years from date of purchase to the "Original" buyer....

I've had a good experience with them..

.I sent in an old CZ20 for them to repair a few years back...they are fast and treated me professionally, fairly and friendly...I called in and got an RGA# and all that instead of emailing.

Is this a trick question? or just rhetorical.
Why don't you do a survey in Green Bay asking folks who their favorite football team is? :)
If my 75ltd ever breaks, I'll either sell it broken or throw it away.

Just respondiing to the post ---although a bit sardonically I admit.
My experience with FT Service would prevent me from ever buying another new FT machine but I'm not going to hijack the thread with details.
If I wanted to get a truely objective opinion of a service dept. I would post in the general Metal Detecting section instead of in the Fisher area where I would think the results would tend to be biased with people who are satisfied with the product and dwell there.
Many people have had good experiences with FT service--mine was not and I'm not up for giving them another chance to disappoint me.

They'd send him over here where most have Fisher units and more than likely had the Fisher folks repair them. He posted precisely.

Personally, I have never had a problem when FT handled my machines...I thought their service and repair was excellent.

It would be nice if they would make the warranty transferable. I am hesitant to buy a used Teknetics or Fisher product just for the fact you are not going to get a warranty. It would be nice even if they dropped the warranty to 2 years and make it transferable.
