I will be camping at the State Park on the beach over the weekend, never hunted that area of Fl. any ideal as what to expect as far as how the shore line will be, does it drop off or a gentle slope, deep sand that you sink in??? Any comment appreciated. Thanks and HH.

Hey,,
I am here in Daytona Beach right down the street and Flagler drops off pretty fast as compared to here in daytona,, never hunted at the state park but been up around the pier and found a few things nothing to write home to momma about,,, that stretch of beach is kinda desolate,,, there are a couple of piers here in daytona that i have had some luck with and the no drive area of the beach here in daytona is also a pretty good area,,, the driving part of daytona beach does yield some goodies also,, especially where people park their cars near the blue "do not park past this sign"signs,,, hope this helps,,, this is a pretty good area and lots and lots of parks here in volusia county,,,, lots of places to search and find all kinds of goodies, and for the most part you will have the beach to yourself,, a great enjoyable time to hunt here,, right after octoberfest bike week and no big events in town for the next month or so,,,, hope you enjoy and maybe soon i can get down your way and hunt some,, if you need any help with directions or anything else just holler and i will be happy to help you with this area,,
happy hunting.,,

A good place to detect would be all around the pier downtown Flagler Beach. There is a nice area that holds water, like wading pools. There are a lot of kids around that area that hang out. There is a little Surf Shop and convince store across the street from the area on the beach I am talking about. It's the south side of the pier. Good luck. My mom has a little place there on Flagler Beach, and a little Garrett ace 150 there for people to play with. I didn't find anything of value, some change, and a matchbox car. It's a great area to relax. Remember one thing there, I have never known of other places to do this, But if you park on the side of the road facing the wrong direction. They will ticket you. I watch them do it all the time from the balcony at mom's place.

Good luck - Chris
