i was wondering if you could hook up 2 9 volt batterys like the hhpi for a super high performance detector does the goldquest have a voltege regulator and what is the high est voltege it could take by jest adding on a connection for two 9 volts giving it 18 volts would it be more pawerful and get greater depth than it already does and would it eat up the power of the 9 volts kinda like the hhpi as in lower battery time avalible just mentally wondering if its possibble larry ca

Hi Larry,
Running the Goldquest at a higher voltage is not recommended. 18V will only make a very marginal difference to the depth capability and there is a risk of electronic damage to some of the components. The transmitter runs straight off the battery voltage and is designed to operate between 14V max. and 8V, when the batteries are about run out. In fact a warning bleep starts at 8.5V
I like the pictures of your finds and the stories that go with them on the Beach Forum and Treasure Depot. Keep on posting!
Eric.
