Wow.....mom cooked a lot like this recipe book! Never a calf's head though! Yuck!!! She made her own cheese, catsup, pickled pigs feet, homemade biscuits, cornbread and cracklins to eat and to use in the cornbread! We had mush.....sometimes when thick enough mom fried it and we ate it with butter and syrup! We may have to go back to fixing and cooking our own food preparation, if a deep depression hits and food gets soooo expensive we may have a hard time buying it! I really liked her chicken and dumplings and sugar and salt cured hams! Thanks for the post, Pete! God Bless! Betty
