Wow imagine 3 Cudas for sale on this forum all within a weeks time. Well this means I'm going to have to be clever and provide tons of value for the money. Here goes. When I first discovered the Cuda in 1997 I had just given up my first try with an excalibur hunting a fresh water beach. I got convinced that a PI was a great way to probe the lower stratum of the sand lakes bottom to find the deeply sunk gold. Man I put that 8" coil in the water and off I went.
Gold ring after gold ring kept coming out and before you know it I had found 167 rings for the season 20+ were gold. I got out of the hobby and sold the cuda. Last year I anticipated getting back in and found one for sale and bought it. Then I had the pleasure of upgrading the upper and lower rods. The upper is a straight shaft aluminum. Cost I think about $100. Modified the rod and lower to marry and then purchased the coil stabilizer for about $10. Now the unit works fine and this morning I found 3 coins and a few odds and ends. But wait as you see from the photos, you are not just getting a Barracuda and waterproof headphones but 2 8" coils. and the hard to fins and heavily sought after 12" coil with epoxy on the coils underside protecting the coil's bottom. I was going to place it on the market for $795. The coils alone IF you can find them are $200 each. But today if you are looking for a PI that is not an amateur machine then $650 plus shipping takes it. Remember that a machine with a hip mount is prone to shorting the connectors to the coil if you are not careful. So use on 8" and save the other when and if that day occurs, extra insurance. This machines retailed new in the late 90's for $995 and then went up to $1250 in early 2000. Call me with any questions up to 9pm EST. 315-593-0630 my name is John. JohnNY was my handle on here 10 years ago.
The reason for selling? Planning on going to Costa Rica to develop and sell property and my treasure hunting needs will have drastically changed, I'm buying a surf board.
