For those who use the SE and have used the XS and the EX II

Hi all, I've been away from the forums for awhile due to a divorce, but, I'm ready to get back to metal detecting. I've used the XS and the EX II before and wanted to know from those who have also, what are the advantages of the SE? Are there any real noticeable differences in the performance of the SE? Thank you in adavnce for your input.

Have had limited time with the XS (borrowed) and the SE...I think the SE is more 'user friendly', a bit better balanced, 'quieter', and definitely faster-operating. I already love it (guess it's all right to love a machine - it is Valentine's Day!). :cheekkiss:

allows you to ID in pinpoint, other than that it like the Explorer II that you have used. The buttons are alittle stiff but I guess the noise cancel button will be harder to hit by accident. The SE I had perform the same as the Explorer II I have but its to hard to sell off old faithfull. They say the SE is more sensitive but what I don't understand is if on the Explorer II model I can up the sensitive to 24 before it gets unstable, but on the SE you can up it to 30 before its unstable, well it seem to me the Explorer II reaches full power at a particular site with lesser sensitivity setting and still have power left over if needed, wouldn't that mean the Explorer II has more sensitivity?

I just went through the decision you are going through. I got me SE this past Saturday.

As you can see, the SE worked out better for me.

To add to what was said in the above thread: Pinpoint is better. The machine is lighter and very stable. The Shaft don't slip. The processor is fast! It goes deep.

All of those new improvements are nice, but my bottom line is this: I've been out on 3 short one hour hunts and brought home silver each time. That never happened with any new detector I've had before. In fact, it may have never happened at all before.

I know you are trying to decide and that can be a real headache. I'll just say that I'm glad I went with the SE. I also kept the XS.
