When you are detecting in the surf how do keep the GQ dry and what sort of sand scoop do you use.
Thanks
Bill.

Bill,
My setup for water use may not be for everyone, but it is definitely waterproof. I use this setup on the dry sand as well. Total protection from all the elements for the control box.
I posted details of what you are after some time ago. Scroll way down to Waterproof setup photo's from the 27 December 2002, and then just a bit further down is Goldquest Waterproof Setup (Long) also from 27 December 2002.
I got my scoop from Finder's. Nice sturdy stainless steel scoop, costs about $200.
The backpack works really well. The container rises and falls with the water level within the pack. I have three holes at the base of the pack for water drainage. Very light and comfortable, and handy for carrying stuff such as drinking water.
Tony.
