JUST TRYING TO GET MORE INFO ON THE OMEGA HERE AND IS THERE ANYONE THAT HAS RUN THE F-75 AND F-70 FOR COMPARISONS WITH THE OMEGA? I'M REALLY LIKING THIS DETECTOR MORE AND MORE!

I have tried to find a site about them but can not locate it. Was written by John Gardiner. The progresion he gave was Fisher F5, Omega, F75 and then T2. One person seemed to think the major difference was software. The LTD versions of F75 and T2 have different processors. Also said that with the 11" DD coil the Omega has same depth as F75 and T2. I just bought the DD coil and have not used it yet. Although I think my sovereign elite is going to rest for a while. Good reports from UK and they have lousy soil to work with. I don't think you can go wrong with an Omega.

Here is a great review of the Omega with the 11" DD coil. http://detectorstuff.com/2009/06/22/teknetics-omega-review-and-11-dd-coil/#more-224

I think this may be what you are looking for. Hope so anyway. http://detectorstuff.com/2009/03/13/information-on-the-new-teknetics-omega-engineer-dave-johnson/

Let me just say that I have owned an F-75 (not LTD) and two F-70's. I also still own an older Dankowski tuned CZ3D with an early 1021 serial # and an Omega. Before the weather turned sour I got a chance to take the Omega and the 11" coil to a location that I previously hunted with the F-75, F-70 & the 3D. This particular location has produced quite a few old silver coins, so whenever I detect this location I am very slow and methodical.
One particular corner of this property has produced quite a few older generation coins; therefore, I always take great care to go slow and overlap my swings when working in this area. With the F-75 and the F-70 EMI was always a big issue and I was forced to dial down the sensitivity at this location. EMI is never a problem with the 3D and that is exactly why I keep one.
Anyway, using the Omega I was able to dial up the sensitivity to a max of 99 and with the coil in motion EMI was not an issue. With 0 discrimination and 2 tones the Omega was able to pull 7 wheats and 2 silver mercury dimes in a corner of property that I had previously hunted with the above mentioned detectors. If I would have only pulled out one or two coins from this area I might have dismissed it as "just missing" ; however, finding 9 coins in an area that I had hunted hard with some very good detectors gave me a lot of confidence in the Omega's abilities. When it comes to depth, I would say that the Omega with the 11" coil can hang in there with its more expensive siblings. However, sheer depth is only one small piece of the puzzle. Being able to detect deep and also correctly ID'ing what is under the coil is also another area where the Omega seems to have a slight advantage over the F's. From what I have been reading the F-75(LTD) is in another league; however, price and availability is in another league as well. Dollar for dollar I think the Omega is a great value and a detector I could recommend to a friend without hesitation.

Good luck amc! I love my Omega! I can't give you a comparison on the F70/75 as I moved up from a F4 and there is a world of difference between those 2. The only thing I would consider an upward move for me would be a F75 ltd or a T2 ltd. I don't think any other mid-level detector will beat an Omega in performance.

from what i've seen and read to me the omega looks and has showed espeacially with the 11" DD coil it holds it own!
