Former house site

Yesterday (9th) I went to the site of an old house for the second time and had a good couple of hours despite the flies. The first find was most unusual, a signal that was quite long when pinpointing, it turned out to be a metal fife which I can't get to make a sound yet.As far as coins go I was also happy, a 1925 penny,1934 half penny (dented) 1950 penny and a 1954 florin. Amongst the others finds was a whistle that does work and a engraved butter knife blade. The day before I found the silver ring in ground I was sure I had dug all there was to dig.

Hello John,
I loveeee that ring! Gee, you're doing well! I always get excited when I see relics like these being found. I think I'll just have to find a racecourse for myself. I've got an old cricket ground here on top of a hill, bit of a pain to walk to, only found bullets to date.
Cheers Angela

John, these are really nice finds!!! The whistle brings memories of an antique one that I had many years ago. I wish you continued success out in the field in your search for great treasure!!!

Thanks for the comments to those who answered, and yes Ken it does make the day when I find some pre-decimal silver. Went back today actually and found a 1917 penny and 1946 sixpence and 1927/28 dog registration tag along with various brass and copper objects.
