Fossil found in a Sandstone formation

OK; if this is what I think it is it's over several million years old. Found while metal detecting a old post Civil War Negro settlement in SE KS.

I would get that to the experts asap…….
 
I think I found out what it is; a LEPIDODENDRON Fossil. Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian Period (307-331 Million Yeas Ago), a bit older than I thought.
Usually located around areas of Coal formations and guess what; we have Coal in my area of the state. Gonna try and get it up to the University for confirmation.
