Managed a little time today went to one of our beat to death Explorer parks and just as I was heading to the truck I found this nice 1900 quarter. Also got 1 Indian and 2 wheats, finds are pretty slim around here. A lot has been going on and I needed some air so anything or nothing at all would've been good. Yesterday my daughter went to the dr. to get a bad pain in her head looked at and they checked her in the hospital until at least Monday her wisdom teeth are causing her problems so hopefully her antibiotics will make the swelling go down and away so she can get them pulled and out of the way. Also yesterday some of you might know one of the guys we detect with here Bob went to the hospital with congestive heart failure and he also has a bad spot on his head from a scan so who knows when he'll be back up and hunting Bob is sometimes annoying but I still hate to see him down and out. Things will get better, on my way to get my wife food and head for the hospital. You all have a good one & HH Ken

Sorry to hear about Bob. Let him know I'm sending him a get well in a hurry message. Also one to you daughter as well.
Sure is a great coin. How deep was it?

Great quarter Ken, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and I hope she gets better soon. Wow, It sounds like you have a lot on your mind. I hope Bob comes through alright. Your daughter and Bob will be in our prayers.

Hi keith thanks. It was in an area where my machine was running silent from all the iron I gat a wierd high pitch and took a chance when I pulled the plug it came in loud and clear on the probe I didn't see it at first it was in a pile of dirt and I handed it to Bryan to see if I'd like it and he said oh yel and he even said it's in great shape and then he put back in my hand and boy was I surprised my luck it could've been a 1944 wheatie. Speaking of wheaties I'm giving all my wheaties to Bob until he can hunt with us again he'll get a kick out of them I'm giving him all of them no matter what the date he gets a kick out of finding them so what the heck. The quarter was close to 7 inches and what a surprise. It will hold me over until I can get out on a big hunt soon. Keep in touch we'll catch up with you later. HH Ken

Hi All,
Newbie questions. I just received my new Explorer II. I am wondering if it was damaged in shipment. During Air Testing and in manual, the Ex II will not descriminate out the Pull Tab, Screw Cap, or Foil, and it rarely registers the nickle during the Air Test. It does descriminate out the screw (1 1/2" long). Also, in the digital screen these trash objects read as coins.
Second question, when using the "Noise Cancel" button do you hold the coil in air or do you place it on the groud until the test is complete.
I am pulling my hair out trying to learn this machine, but I can see it will be fun once I get going. It is also encouraging to see the comments, post and kindness showed to newbies.
Thanks in advance.
