Found a 1941 Dime, Metal detecting in the woods

i'd be going back there in the late fall after everthing dies so you can put your coil in more places!

weston

There should be lots of coins in the woods left there by hunters in whitetail overrun Fayette County. Look up every once in a while for old tree stands and work under them. It works here in northern Allegheny County especially on the ridgetops. Also try the trails into the Yough and Casselman River banks. Fishermen and swimmers leave a lot of stuff behind.

nice find Kevin.

I like detecting in the woods especially in late fall/early spring with no bugs/foliage. You have to do a little research and use your gut - you never know what
type of activity might have been going on in a spot. In older populated areas some spots that are wooded were not wooded 50-150 years ago.
Bruce in Ct

Nice going Kevin. I like the woods too,but only hunt them in early spring & late fall GL on your next hunt:detecting:

Ticks Poison IVy and Rattlers keep me from these areas except in fall and winter...
