Found a big "cookie" at the beach this morning with a surprise inside :)

Worked the negative tide this morning and got a surprise of sorts... Hit a target that just about blew my headphones off Dug down only one scoop to find a nice sized "cookie". The sand that encrusted the coin actually broke away pretty easily. Certainly wasn't expecting to find one of these there. With a date no less

I picked this one up in the wet sand at the peak of a -.98 neg tide on the north shore. I don't think I'll try to clean it. It's de-laminating and I think I'll lose the detail if I do.

Yeah, I sure wasn't expecting to find a silver half yesterday
This wasn't found on the ocean side so my guess is a coil has gone over it before. They probably thought it was a buried can

same thing once in a play sand area. I had dug a couple coke cans and then it sounded like the same but was an Eisenhower half. steve
