Found a bottle cap...

...still had the bottle attached! Found in a wooded area that had a house there in the 1930s. I know nothing about bottles...any experts out there? Probably a 1980s schnapps bottle!

Internet search revealed it was patented in 1933. The bottle is of a type that was produced by Owens- Illinois for over-the-counter medications. First intact bottle...fun stuff!

There are some good websites that can help you date the bottle itself. Look for dating Owens Illinois inc bottles.

Showed it to the curator of the local museum...she thought it was neat and might be able to roll it into her display...so I gave it to her. It's all good, cuz the wife was all, "whadya gonna do with THAT thing now?" when I brought it home. She had it in the recycle bin this morning! LOL
