Found another very sweet silver coin today but pretty worn.

Got out for an hour and a half today. I blew off a couple of weight training appointments at the YMCA today...yeah I know...I oughta' be ashamed. Anyway I was finding nothing but crap and a small clad spill...then the last 15 minutes popped out a nice 1926 wheatie...then a sweet earring w/mini coin on it from 6" down...then with 5 minutes left before I had to report back to work...I got a sweet signal with good tones. I dug a good sized plug and popped out this sweet Standing Liberty quarter from about 8" down. It's worn badly with no readable date...but as you know these are very tough to find. I was elated to see it as I have only found 2 or three in the last 10 years.
30 years of hunting and it's STILL hard to match the feeling and excitement of popping a silver coin out of the ground.
PS: Trust me...I found about 6 more pieces of rusty nail/wire type of crap...but they aren't in the picture!

That is what makes me get out of bed every day, it not going to work!!!Great finds and good luck on your next hunt.

Bryce, the SLQ is sweet even without a date. Yea, I've found them without too and with it had the date but that's life.

What cycle do you own in your pic?

Tony

been so busy that I'm not getting to ride it much. I'm lucky if I even get to detect for longer than an hour when I hunt. That's definately going to change this summer!

I never owned a Harley but have ridden bikes most my life till someone from Sweden nearly killed me in California. Sold it right after that. Californians are so cool. The bike was on top of me and a guy was looking down out of his car and asked me if I needed any help (with gasoline coming out of the tank ready to ignite). I just as cooly said "No." So he drove away.

Someday I might get a big bike. Recently got a small one to go to work and back.

For detecting for only an hour you sure do find some sweet finds!

I had about 3 hours total yesterday because I blew off a couple appointments at the YMCA. I then filled up my car at $3.39 per gallon....drove 30 miles to an old fairgrounds...hunted for about an hour and 45 minutes...then drove 30 miles back!
With gas prices the way they are...I will probably be hunting even less than I am now. It really bites!

that may be my last decent find for a while. It's really getting ridiculous. A person can barely afford to keep the house warm in the winter....barely afford to keep a house cool in the summer...now we can't afford to drive our cars!!! Rumor has it that it will be $4 per gallon within 3 weeks....yippee!!!!!

Bryce,
Nice bike, It looks like it a springer from the pic.I had a limited edition low rider but give it to my son who is in Iraq right now. What part of IL are you from I live in southern. You could ride that bike and save on gas if you could strap you detector on.

hit a couple of parks an hour or so away. You know your Harleys...as mine is in fact a Heritage Springer. I'm in Effingham...about midway between Chicago and St. Louis.

Congrats Bryce! Looking at the back you can tell if it's a Type I or II. The eagle and stars are oriented slightly different. I have a Type I but can tell what year it is... :veryangry: :D

wot coil on the way. I have a few hunted out places to try it out at...heck...they're all pretty much hunted out now..but I still pull an occasional goodie from them.

NOT NO SALE.... I was found using a Minelab Sovereign Xs a few years ago in my home town at local park. The same park that I have pulled out 12 SL's all have clear dates except 2 one worn even has mint mark.I have plenty of coins on my wish list that I have not found yet.
