found 23 coins total and almost ready to head home from the park and I decided to walk along one more spot when I got a real strong signal, it was only down one inch or less. My first wheat cent! 1945D and really nice shape, it must have been dropped not to long ago. I know it isn't much but it is my first!

Nice Wheat! It could have been dropped 60 years ago? Some new coins will be deep. Some old coins shallow. You'll never know until you dig... Good job! I spent about 2 hours hunting today and I brought home a 1981 quarter and 2001 nickel. I dug a lot of junk too. This was at a farm house built around 1905. I know there's silver there, so I'll be going back. You whipped me today.

Woo Hoo for you:thumbup: Next thing we know you will be posting your first silver coin:hot:

1945? Good. I remember when growing up those things were as common as the cold!
It was Indian Heads people were after. Now you can't hardly find ANY of them anymore.
And those beautiful quarters with the woman on the flip side...liberty? I can't remember, its been so long
since I've seen one.
