Found Possible Dump Site? V Nickel 1912 - S or D?

The lake level is low right now and has exposed a small what appears to be dump site from as early as the 1880s to may be the late 1940s. We found a lot of stuff that at one point was underwater. I was hoping the the awesome 1912 V nickel was going to be the key S mint...but from the microscope images I think it is a D? Of note the Two wheat pennies, Oklahoma Tax Token brass, brass overall buttons, and a Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol Member "Girls Division" brass. My wife was more interested in all of the old glass and buttons. She also found an arrowhead.

Looks like very nice finds to me! I would be going back there, for sure~!!!!

Wishing you more good finds...........

Is that pic with the V nickel supposed to be the mint mark? It almost looks like "u o".......maybe a counter stamp?

Here is an image of the obverse of a V nickel, not the one I found. You can see where the mint make is at on these coins. I am sure mine is a D. -s

Yep, I see it now. I was looking at it wrong. Thanks for the clarification!!
