Found ring for owner

Up with the sparrows early saturday morning, and off to the beach, only myself a dozen surfers and early runners etc
I was working my way along the high water mark, and was approached by a younger fellow who was off for a surf.
He started to tell how they were from out of town and had visited two weeks previous aswell and that his wife had lost her
wedding ring about 3 kms further down the beach.
I offered to try and find it if he could asure me he knew the approximate area it was lost in.He assured me that he did
so off we go down the road to another beach ascess track when we arrived I suggested he stake out an area were he thought it
would be,this he did, And I started to MD in a set parallel pattern.Well after 20 minutes I found it along with several $ and the
usual teartabs etc. This was a $4500 ring that he said his wife had cried over every day since it was lost, and I think he also was on
the verge off tears when I plucked it out off the sand.
He took my address and promised to drop off something in our mailbox and true to his word $60 turned up the next day,I regret
not taking a photo off it as it was a magnificent ring, white gold with one large diamond in the middle surrounded by lots of smaller ones
just the sort off ring I dream of finding (ah well it was a happy ending).....jim

Good on ya jim, finding something like that for a young couple makes this hobby great.
keep up the good work, mark

Great post and congrats Jim! Even a world away we have great detectors willing to help others and make our hobby shine. Teartabs/Pulltabs, LOL? I also enjoy learning about the culture of others especially those of English decent. Good job, I don't usually accept a reward but after I state I don't want a reward and it is forced on me, then I take it, also helps the person out as they think they owe you something. HH, Mike

Fantastic spirit shown there Jim
Good for you mate :clapping:
$60 was a bit low IMHO but I know you probably didn't do it for the $
Nice people like you shine a good light on our hobby
