I had to jump right on it tonight. As soon as I got off work I built a fire out in the sun room...I had just installed new pipes and had to do a burn off. So this was a great time time to watch the pipes burn off and do some out back tests with FrankMD's idea's.

I placed a quarter and a dime on the ground. I checked Fe Read and I manually ground balanced...Sensitivity 60 (Normal PowerOn)
Then I checked the sounds and reads on both the dime and quarter.
Then I turned the sensitivity down to 30.... Did identical swings, at the same speeds. The only difference I could see on reads or sounds was I lost about 1-inch of depth...That was it....The only difference I could see, nothing else....Some of you guys try this and see what you can see....

I can do without 1-inch for that kind os stability! It was very stable in read Numbers and sounds!

Let me know how yours turns out!

Interesting test. But, I'm thinking an air test is going to test different than an in the ground test. I don't have a test bed so it will be interesting to see where that ends up.

I do remember hitting a target at 6" or so deep with 80 sensitivity. I think it was in mode Db. The signal faded off pretty low (would have missed audio if alot of targets were near) at a sensitivity of 50 to 60. IF MEMORY serves me correct. Of course we need some testing.

Thanks for the test KCK,
EMS
