Hello..my neighbor has a Freedom one detector thats been sitting for years. He lent it out and when he got it back says it didnt work,I took a look and speaker only makes slight noises but with headphones I can seem to here signal fine...were these speakers a problem on these model or possibly something not letting speaker work..appreciate any help.

Tested batteries, all over 8.5 volts..terminals all clean, machine is in actually in real nice condition..i can hear the 3 beep startup signal indicating a good battery signal with headphones on only though.

I had one years back=did same thing- as best I remember was loose or corroded contact in the headphone jack, can't remember for sure, but was an easy fix, mine had been setting around a long time too, just look all the contacts over real good= HH, Bugar
