Friday I got out for a few hours but only got 3 Wheat Pennies. I had to give some info to a couple of guys from Barnesville, MN. about the Club Hunt coming up on May 19-20th and give them a business card for a local dealer. Tried the Fairgrounds and only got the Pennies. Saturday me and Dale tried a few sites but only got a few keepers as well. Someone had beat us to a very good site and had for the most part cleaned it out. Got a couple Wheats,Indian Head,Buffalo Nickel, and a Merc. Sunday was a bit different. Me and Randy hit a Park that I had previously stopped and hunted last fall and I had no idea that this Park would yield what it did. We started hunting around 1:00 PM Sunday and quit about 8:00 PM. Randy found 3 Indians, a bunch of Wheats, a 1930 Standing Liberty Quarter, a couple Merc's and a couple of Roosevelt Dimes. He ended the day with 6 Silver. Good Job Randy and hopefully Dale can attend next time. I just hope we can do a repeat this coming weekend. Now for what I ended up with. I found a total of 15 Silver on Sunday which gave me a total of 16 for the weekend. I got 1 Barber Quarter with 3 letters of Liberty visible dated 1901, 2 Barber Dimes both dated 1912 (1 of them has Full Liberty),10 Mercury Dimes dated (2)1917,(2)1917-s,1918-d,1918-s,1920,1928-s,1935-d, and 1939 along with 3 Roosevelt Dimes dated 1946,1960-d, and 1962-d. I found 1 Buffalo Nickel on Saturday dated 1927. For Indian Heads, I found 3 dated 1876 (I tried to get a better pic of it and it looks kind of like a 4 but it is a 6 under a Loop),1902, and 1907. I also found a total of 25 Wheat Pennies which 18 of them came on Sunday. They are dated 1912,(2)1917,1918,1919,(2)1919-s,1926,1934,1937-d,1939-d,(2)1941-d,(2)1942-d,1944-d,1946,(2)1946-d,1947-d,1951-d,1952-d,1953-d,1954-d, and 1956-d. I also found a few Misc. Items. A piece of Plastic that has 1967 on it, an old Cuff link, a flat Button, and an emblem off of an old Car. If you were wondering what the totals were for Sunday alone, they were 15 Silver,2 Indians (1876,1902), and 18 Wheats. Not a bad day at all and it more than made up for the rest of the weekend. Good Luck and HH to you all and enjoy the pics. [attachment 55488 Silver.jpg][attachment 55474 BuffaloNickel.jpg][attachment 55483 IndianHeads.jpg][attachment 55484 OldIndianHead.jpg][attachment 55485 WheatPennies.jpg][attachment 55475 Misc..jpg]

Next time take me and I will clear out all the trash for you while you dig the good coins like usual:rant:. Dale must have brought you bad luck :thumbdown:while Randy brought you good luck :thumbup:the way it looks.
Thanks for letting the guys in Barnsville know about the Explorer and the X1 probe as we will now have 2 more Explorers in the area as I close the deal this afternoon:beers:.

It was a lot of fun. Most of the Coins were in the 2"-6" range. Randy's Quarter was just under the grass! I am sure there is a few more Coins in that Park so I might have to go back. I would love to take you along sometime if you are up for a roadtrip. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH.

Spots like these are getting harder and harder to find. Funny thing is that this is a Park that is right out in the open and I would have never thought that it would have yeilded the finds that it produced on Sunday. I know that I stopped at least 2-3 times last fall and got a few Silver and Wheats, but nothing like this. Also, a guy stopped and showed us a few finds he has found with his cheap detector. He found a Barber Half, 2 Barber Quarters, 1 Standing Liberty Quarter, 2 Barber Dimes, and some Merc's. I am unsure but I think he was the caretaker of the Park and he even offered to turn on the Lights in the Balldiamond if it got too dark out to detect. Too bad Explorer's act up from the Electricity. Good Luck and HH.
